BucsWorld is an independent website about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, made for the fans who do not live anywhere near Tampa.
We watch the early games at dinner time and the late games after midnight. We follow the team through box scores, streams and podcasts, six time zones away from Raymond James Stadium. There are more of us every season: in Germany, the Buccaneers' international home market, in the United Kingdom, where Bucs UK has existed since 1984, and in the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Mexico, Brazil, Japan and everywhere else the NFL has found new fans.
BucsWorld is written for all of them, in English, from Nijmegen in the Netherlands.
What we publish
We do not try to beat the Tampa press to breaking news. Pewter Report, JoeBucsFan and Bucs Nation do that well, and they are in the building. We publish the things that take longer to make:
- History. The Yucks, the creamsicle years, the Tampa 2 defense, Super Bowl XXXVII, the Brady years. The stories a new fan needs to understand why this fanbase is the way it is.
- Analysis. Film study and the numbers behind it: what the Bucs are doing, and why it works or does not.
- Long reads. Profiles and reported stories with room to breathe.
- Interviews. Conversations with former players and staff, when we have them. We only publish interviews we actually did.
- News for Europe. Kick-off times in your time zone, what happened while you slept, and the roster as it stands today.
Who makes it
BucsWorld is made by Tim Looten, a Buccaneers fan from Nijmegen. Tim also runs Goffertpraat, an independent platform about the Dutch football club N.E.C. Nijmegen with interviews, long reads and a weekly podcast. BucsWorld applies the same approach to the other team he has followed for most of his life.
Independence
BucsWorld is not affiliated with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the National Football League or any of their partners. We do not use team or league logos, and we do not sell merchandise. Opinions are our own. If we get a fact wrong, tell us and we will correct it.
