Egbuka's chance

Egbuka missed the last two games, first with a concussion and a foot injury and then with the foot alone. He returned to full practice on Thursday and Friday, and the team lists him as questionable. Our Egbuka story tracks his status.

Wirfs appears on the report

Wirfs is new to the injury report this week. He sat out Thursday and was limited on Friday with a toe injury, and the report gives no game designation (Buccaneers.com). JoeBucsFan wrote on Thursday that the report was not specific about the injury, and we have found no source that describes it further. The final call comes on Sunday. The depth chart shows the offensive line.

Good news elsewhere: Mayfield, Otton and Mauch were full participants all three days, and Gainwell and Smith finished the week at full.

Monangai hurt his toe and thumb in the Week 4 win over the Jets and has missed four games. Bears coach Ben Johnson said toe injuries can be fickle and that this one has proved to be (Chicagobears.com, November 6).

What comes next

Kickoff at Soldier Field is Sunday, November 8, at 8:20 PM ET, which is 02:20 CET on Monday, on NBC. Our how to watch guide covers the options from Europe.

The Bucs lose one starter for certain and carry two open questions into a night game. If Egbuka and Wirfs both play, the offense that ran for 324 yards against Atlanta stays intact, and the only real hole is the one Diaby leaves on the edge.
