The quarterback and the secondary
Zac Robinson confirmed that Mayfield will miss a third straight game with a dislocated right thumb (Yahoo Sports). Jalon Daniels started the previous two games, as our Week 5 recap explains. The injury itself is covered in Mayfield dislocates his throwing thumb against the Vikings.
Winfield did not practice all week with a rib injury. Morrison, who was limited every day, is doubtful, and Garnes went from no practice on Wednesday to full on Friday. The depth chart shows who is available behind them.
Sills out despite full practices
The notable line is Sills. He was a full participant on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, yet the Bucs list him as out. His 21-day return window opened on October 12, as we reported in Sills returns to practice. The report does not say why he is out, so we will not guess; he can still be activated at any point in the window.
Linebackers: Dennis and Trotter
Dennis moved to full participation on Friday after two limited days. Trotter was added to the report on Friday with a knee injury and was limited (Buccaneers.com, Yahoo Sports). Our Trotter update has the details. Tucker, the running back, was limited on Thursday and Friday.

What comes next
Players listed as questionable or doubtful are not final until the inactives come out about 90 minutes before kickoff. Until then, the picture is clear for three players: Tampa Bay plays its third straight game without Mayfield, and without Winfield and Sills as well. That leaves the Bucs thin at quarterback, safety and receiver against a Steelers team that has its own gaps.
