Dallas is a 10-point home favorite over Tampa Bay, and the game's total is 47.5. Those are the numbers on the board for tonight's game at AT&T Stadium, kickoff 8:15 PM ET on Thursday, October 8, which is 2:15 AM CEST on Friday, October 9, on Prime Video. Here is what the numbers say, in plain terms, and how they sit against BucsWorld's own call for this team.

Key facts

  • Dallas is a 10-point home favorite, Cowboys -10 (-110) and Buccaneers +10 (-110) (DraftKings, via Sports Illustrated Betting, October 5).
  • The game total is 47.5, Over -110 and Under -110 (DraftKings, via Sports Illustrated Betting, October 5).
  • The moneyline is Cowboys -625 and Buccaneers +455 (DraftKings, via Sports Illustrated Betting, October 5).
  • Bucky Irving to rush for 50 or more yards carries a 54 percent implied probability (Kalshi, via Covers, October 7).

Converted to a plain percentage, Cowboys -625 implies about an 86 percent chance Dallas wins outright, and Buccaneers +455 implies about 18 percent for Tampa Bay. Those two figures add up to roughly 104 percent, which is the sportsbook's built-in margin, not a claim that both outcomes can happen at those odds.

Kalshi is a prediction market, so these lines are thresholds with a probability attached, not sportsbook odds. Both Tampa Bay thresholds sit below the player's own 2025 per game average. There is no Baker Mayfield passing line this week, because Mayfield is out.

What the market is pricing in

The biggest number behind the spread is the quarterback. Mayfield is out with a right thumb injury, and rookie Jalon Daniels makes his second straight start, per the final injury report covered in our Bain update. Our Daniels profile has his background. The Buccaneers are 0-4 after a 17-14 loss to Green Bay, as the Week 4 recap shows, and Sports Illustrated Betting's October 5 preview lists Dallas at 2-2.

The defense is thin behind the line. Safety Antoine Winfield Jr. is out with a rib fracture, per our Winfield report, and cornerback Benjamin Morrison and linebacker SirVocea Dennis are out as well. Rookie edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr. is the one return: he was a full participant all week with no game designation. Kicker Chase McLaughlin, who missed Tuesday practice, was a full participant on Wednesday, as BucsWorld reported.

Dallas brings a receiver who found his rhythm last week. Sports Illustrated Betting's October 5 preview has CeeDee Lamb catching 17 of 21 targets for 189 yards and a touchdown in Week 4, and the Cowboys' injury report lists Lamb as a full participant. Covers' October 7 odds table has Kalshi at Cowboys -7.5, with Dallas at 79 percent and Tampa Bay at 21 percent to win.

BucsWorld's read

BucsWorld's own call has the Buccaneers finishing 10-7 and winning the NFC South, laid out in our season predictions. An 0-4 start and an 18 percent moneyline do not fit that call: 10-7 now requires 10 wins from the final 13 games. The market is pricing this one Thursday, with Daniels starting against a home favorite, as a game Tampa Bay loses far more often than it wins. BucsWorld's call depends on the weeks after Mayfield's thumb heals.

Every line above is a snapshot from October 5 to 7, and the DraftKings numbers and the Kalshi numbers differ by 2.5 points on the spread. BucsWorld does not encourage betting on any of it; lines move, and a line exists to balance action, not to forecast one specific Thursday.
