Carolina is a 3-point home favorite over Tampa Bay, and the game total is 44.5, according to BetMGM's numbers as published by Sports Illustrated Betting on October 20. Kickoff at Bank of America Stadium is Sunday, October 25, at 1:00 PM ET, which is 18:00 CET in Central Europe, as clocks there move back to winter time that morning. Here is what the numbers say, in plain terms, and how they sit against BucsWorld's own call for this team.
Key facts
- Carolina is a 3-point home favorite at -118, with Tampa Bay +3 at -102 (BetMGM, via Sports Illustrated Betting, October 20).
- The total for Buccaneers at Panthers is 44.5, with the over and the under both at -110 (BetMGM, via Sports Illustrated Betting, October 20).
- The moneyline has Panthers -175 and Buccaneers +140 (BetMGM, via Sports Illustrated Betting, October 20).
- Bucky Irving's anytime touchdown price is -105 (DraftKings Network, via Football Nation, October 20).
The numbers
Market | Line | Book, date |
|---|---|---|
Spread | Panthers -3 (-118) / Buccaneers +3 (-102) | BetMGM, via Sports Illustrated Betting, October 20 |
Moneyline | Panthers -175 / Buccaneers +140 | BetMGM, via Sports Illustrated Betting, October 20 |
Total | Over 44.5 (-110) / Under 44.5 (-110) | BetMGM, via Sports Illustrated Betting, October 20 |
Converted to a plain percentage, Panthers -175 implies about a 64 percent chance Carolina wins outright, and Buccaneers +140 implies about 42 percent for Tampa Bay. Those two figures add up to roughly 105 percent, which is the sportsbook's built-in margin, not a claim that both teams can win more than half the time.
For comparison, the prediction markets Kalshi and Polymarket US priced Carolina at about 60 percent and Tampa Bay at about 40 percent on October 22, with a spread of Panthers -3.5 and a total of 44.5 (DeFi Rate). Those are trading prices, not sportsbook odds.
Player props
Player | Prop | Line | Book, date | 2025 per game |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Bucky Irving | Anytime touchdown | -105 | DraftKings Network, via Football Nation, October 20 | 0.4 (4 TD in 10 games) |
Chuba Hubbard | Anytime touchdown | -175 | DraftKings Network, via Football Nation, October 20 | Panthers player, not in BucsWorld's file |
Tommy Tremble | Anytime touchdown | +280 | DraftKings Network, via Football Nation, October 20 | Panthers player, not in BucsWorld's file |
Football Nation's October 20 page lists no book line for Baker Mayfield's passing yards, so none appears here. Irving's 0.4 comes from one rushing touchdown and three receiving touchdowns in 10 games last season.
What the market is pricing in
The quarterback is the biggest open question. Mayfield was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, his first since dislocating his right thumb in Week 3, and Todd Bowles hopes to choose between Mayfield and rookie Jalon Daniels on Friday, as BucsWorld reported. Daniels has started the last three games, including the 26-19 overtime loss to the Steelers covered in our Week 6 recap. The October 20 numbers above were published two days before Wednesday's practice report.
The Wednesday injury report adds more. Wide receiver Emeka Egbuka did not practice with a concussion and a foot injury, as we covered here. Irving, whose touchdown price is the shortest on the Bucs side at -105, also did not practice, listed with an illness. The full list is in our injury report.
Carolina's picture is steadier: quarterback Bryce Young (knee) was a full participant on Wednesday, while running back Chuba Hubbard sat out for rest, per the same report. Hubbard's -175 touchdown price is the shortest of the three above. The how to watch guide has the broadcast details.
BucsWorld's read
BucsWorld's own call, in our 2026 predictions, has the Buccaneers finishing 10-7 and winning the NFC South. At 1-5, that call now needs a 9-2 finish, and a 42 percent moneyline for this game does not contradict it: a team that wins nine of its last eleven is still an underdog in several of them. The division also matters here. Carolina took the crown last season on a tiebreaker, as detailed in our NFC South preview, so a road win would count twice in the standings.
Every line above is a snapshot from October 20 to 22, and books will move most of them before Sunday, especially once the quarterback is named. BucsWorld does not encourage betting on any of it, and lines move for reasons that have little to do with who wins one Sunday.
